Hello I am Maeve Collier and this is about my class. I am in 5th class and go to Camross N.S.Camross. Camross is a small village located towards the bottom of Laois. There are fourteen pupils in my class,nine girls and five boys. We share a classroom with sixth class, and are thought by Mrs McCarthy the Principal. We are getting an extension and a new hall, which is to be hopefully built by September 2007 There are 110 pupils in our school. (Maeve)

My name is Roisin Scully I am in 6th class . My school is situated in Camross. I am 12 years old .I have blue eyes and blond hair . I enjoyed Croke park when we went there on are school tour .My best friend is Ashling Mortimer .My favourite subjects are History and English .Our class is very colourful and we go on the the computer for experiments like English Science or Art there is 16 in 6th class and 14 in 5th class we have two breaks small break is at 11 o clock and big break is at half 12 some of the subjects then some are hard we have a tv and a dvd player that we use for stuff on alive o. INFANTS

We are the Infants in Camross School.There are 8 girls and 4 boys in Junior Infants and there are 8 girls and 4 boys in Senior Infants also.

Caoimhe,Michael and Patrick Ryan are triplets. They are in Senior Infants.Joseph Ryan,Kirsten Keenan and Kira Bannon have all got new brothers this year.Daniel Delaney won a prize in the Sugradh colouring competition. Isobel Donnery and Lily McCormack from Junior Infants and Aimee Collier and Ciara Delaney from Senior Infants won the handwriting competition.Boo is our class pet. He is a guinea pig. He is 5 now and getting old .He comes to school some days. We feed him grass and fruit. He sleeps in Mrs Keenan`s house.

We have planted our Spring Garden in the tubs.We planted Tulips and Daffodils. The colours are yellow ,white and red. We have lots of toys in our classroom .Skittles is our favourite game.We read books with Mrs Keenan and Charlotte`s Web is our favourite story.We love going out playing in the yard and going on nature walks.On Fridays we have a treat and we watch D.V.D .`s with first and second class.

First and Second Class .

We are in firts and second class .There are 18 children in first class and there are 14 children in second class .In first class there are 10 boys and 8 girls .In second class there are 6 girls and 8 boys .We all love our school in Camross .We like to play soccer on the pitch at break time .Our lessons are pretty cool.

Third and Fourth Class 2006-2007

There are eleven pupils in both 3th and 4th class.There are four boys and seven girls in third class and five girls and six boys in fourth class.Our teacher is Miss Horan .From October to Christmas we went swimming in Roscrea every Monday .We love swimming and we have learnt lots of new strokes .We do lots of project work in third and fourth class .This year so far we have done projects on The Titanic,The Rainforests , The Tundra , The Normans , Gorillas and The Desert .At the moment we are doing projects on France and China .We are finding out about the landscape of each country , the inportant landmarks in both France and China .We hope to find out the people , customs , traditions , climate , food , farming and environment of both countries .Every Firday we go hurling Mattie Collier.We love hurling and our hurling skills are really improving .We took part in an indoor hurling competition after Christmas .We did very well and really enjoyed ourselves .Last week we went to Portlaoise to take part in the GAA Go Games tournamts .We had a great day out .In the spring we planted bulbs in a barrel out side our classroom .The barrel looked beautiful in spring full of yellow blooms , but now it is empty .We need to plant new flowers that will flower in the summertime .This year we have gone on trips to the National Symophny Orchestra , Croke Park and Collins Barracks .We also go on lots of nature walks and visits to our church and our parish graveyard .In third and fourth class we enter art , sport , story , poetry and handwriting competitions .Every year we take part in a storytelling festival in the Slieve Bloom Mountaines .Lots of storytellers visit the Slieve Blooms and tell us lots of stories .We write stories , pomes and draw pictures about there visit .This year we read Dan Kissane`s book `Jimmy `s Leprechaun Trap` in class .We really enjoyed read it .We designed new covers and blurbs for the book .We created leperchaun menus and designed wanted posters for the `Little Bohannon ` (The leprechaun in the book) We wrote letters to Dan Kissane telling him how much we enjoyed his novel .Last week he wrote back to us .He wrote a really funny letter . teacher read us Dan Kissane `s other novel `Jimmy and the Banshee ` It was scary , but also quite funny.We give it a score of 8 and a half out of ten .We love drama and love putting on little shows for the other classes .This Christmas we put on a Chistmas play called `TV BETHLEHEM`.During the year we also put on plays about `Oisin in Tir na nOg` and `The Prodigal Son `. This year we have done lots of seience experiments . We have found out you can walk on air , air takes up space , that water can be cleaned , that sound travels better through solids , that things float better in salty water and that you can use a magnet to find out if an object has iron in it .We also made rain gauges , bird tables and string telephones .Our favourite subjects are PE , Art , Drama , English and Science .In our school we collect money for Rosanni .Rosanni lives in the Philppines .We send money out to Sr .Helen in the Philppines to pay for Rosanni `s education .We also send money to Fr .Paddy Hyland , a Camross native , who works with the poor people in Kenya .
